Government introduction of Small Donations Bill
The government have today official announced the Small Donations Bill which will allow charities to claim up to £5,000 unsolicited donations without any paperwork requirements which were typically paramount to Gift Aid claims. This comes as excellent news for helping to improve the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and can practically enable any eligible group to claim free money.
It is predicted that this scheme might help generate a further £85 million for charities within the UK.
There will however remain a requirement for eligible charities to have a three year track record with standard Gift Aid procedure and potentially to continue pushing Gift Aid campaigns with declarations as per the norm. For Priority Club clients this will come as great news as the Copius Group can continue to facilitate our cutting edge fundraising campaigns and strategies to maximise standard returns whilst also aiming towards achieving an additional £5,000 for each charity or CASC (Community Amateur Sports Clubs).
